I-M-O-G-E-N
Duo: cello, piano

I-M-O-G-E-N celebrates a 30th birthday with a piece that is lyrical, gentle, and uplifting. It is a special 30th birthday gift commissioned by a mother, Lim Hur, for her daughter, Imogen.

Imogen, who is a skilled cellist, grew up studying music with renowned Australian cellist David Pereira, and singing with choral ensembles Vox Anima and The Resonants. She has enjoyed performing in concerts at Carnegie Hall NY and Southwark Cathedral London.

Australian composer Sally Greenaway mapped the letters of Imogen’s name to the notes of the A major scale to create a theme motif, which is woven throughout the piece. Imogen’s middle name, ‘Bo’ (precious), inspires the atmosphere and an intricate delicateness for the piece.

"Having a lyrical dialogue between the cello (Imogen’s instrument) and the piano (her mother's instrument) gave a sense of connection between mother and daughter, of love enduring"
- Greenaway

Poems I, II, III
Duo: cello, piano

A collection of 3 exquisite miniatures for Cello and Piano by Australian composer Sally Greenaway:
1. Poem I
2. Poem II
3. Poem III

Each delicately paints the awe of moonlight: a tender whisper; the beauty of stillness.

Inspired by the French Mélodie pieces of Reynaldo Hahn and the poem Roses du Soir by Pierre Louÿs, the pieces are deeply expressive, alluring, often suspending mid-air, timeless.
